Talib Kweli
The BK-emcee returns with a gritty music piece today appropriately titled “So Disgusting.” Just the type of flow fans have grown to appreciate from Talib over the years and although not included on his latest album, the song will still find its way on an upcoming mixtape hosted by Mr. E called We Run This Volume 7. Talib’s latest album Gutter Rainbows is available now through iTunes.

Back in June, Bon Iver’s self-titled sophomore album hit stores with an impact, charting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and selling 104,000 copies in its first week. The other day, Iver’s brainchild Justin Vernon appeared on NPR’s World Cafe and performed the album-ending track, “Beth/Rest.” However, instead of playing the instrumentation heard on the album cut, Vernon sat down with nothing but a piano and microphone in front of him and gave a beautiful, stripped-down rendition of the song. Given the stark contrasts between the 80s-esque sound of the original version and the raw sound of this solo piano version, the two might as well be considered different songs. Which do you like better?

Here comes the latest visual from New York-based experimental rockers Battles. Following up to their 2007 debut album Mirrored, the group has recently released their sophomore offering Gloss Drop. In support of this, the band drops the official clip for “My Machines” which features the vocals (and visual appearance) of British electronic composer and singer Gary Numan. The video was shot in a semi-deserted mall where the band appear to make impressive (and acrobatic) use of the escalator. Behind-the-scenes impressions are on their way.

Moufy delivers the official music video for “Boston Lights” off his mixtape titled Boston Lights and is filled with some impressive visuals. Moufy reps Boston hard as he is seen at the Bruins championship parade, decked out in Sox gear, rocking a crowd and even opens up with an appearance from “El Pres” from Barstool. Not many rappers rep their cities harder than Moufy does, and did I mention the song is sick too?
