this frenzy
its not me
but the me
every one sees
me to be
so crazy
but indeed
its not me
holding me back
like a gray matter
of fact
no fiction
this friction
between
what you see
and what it is
what gives
for this fire
burns in me
concerns me
this frenzy
its all me
like the me
you see
reflecting
back
like a gray matter
of fact
been gone
and back
learned how to react
how to remain
in tact
no shame
in that
since
i am what i am
and that man
is a man
that stands
for all he can
like a gray matter
of fact
of life
lines rhymed
to sacrifice
my mind
for your heart
or a sign
your love
is surely mine

HIGH RISE INFO: Web Site Changes

Just a quick notice that for the rest of this week, I will be working mainly on branding myself into the High Rise Mind label. I will be making changes in the appearance of my site, that will remain permanent through my future.

I want to be able to have people recognize certain colors, looks, logos, etc with my name.. Brett Patrick Gibson a.k.a The High Rise Mind.

By the end of the week these changes will be final.

I will continue posting NEW MUSIC, but not as much blogs or poetry.

 

The first change you will see is the look of this website, along with a new logo, and color scheme.

ORIGINAL POETRY: Yeah, My Sleeve

these thoughts
let me conquer the storms
that break in
because i let the fake in
but these eyes
sought eyes
as bright as mine
to fuel the fire
that she inspires
to keep my heart warm

yeah,

I’ve been warned
by loves defeat
to stay tall
and stand on two feet
but my hearts
forever stuck on
my sleeve
which leads me to
leaves me true
for all that love can do

yeah,

even when i hate
the thought of pain
inflicting its ways
like fate, and the lessons
learned
for i’ve been burned
but the world turns
and with much faith
in loves existence
she brings a brilliance
in every instance

and yeah,

i hope she feigns
my surreal appeal
like the feel i bring
the love i think
that could be
between her and me
those thoughts
make me shine
like the sunlight
reflecting off ice

and yeah,

i do believe
our love
could be real
like what you see
on my sleeve

like it’s just right.

ORIGINAL POETRY: Reaction.

this action you chose to be
this memory you chose to weave
it could basically be
anything you dream
anything you’ve seen
your mind is Einstein Picasso
your path is hindsight your lasso
take action fast though
don’t pause for station identification
your masterpiece is your destination
the drive is where you find
why everything is designed
just for your mind to recognize
the reality that only the blind see
because your actions are who you chose to be
and this memory what you chose to weave.
